The founders of Israeli Ajax spreadsheet iRows have confirmed what we wrote yesterday, they have been hired by Google and iRows will be shut down. The service is no longer accepting new accounts and will shut down completely at the end of this year. The company is providing instructions for its users to move their data to Google Documents. Financial details haven’t been disclosed.

The newly released Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Web browsers both include new technology to help flag and block phishing sites — those authentic-looking Web sites set up by scammers to trick users into entering personal financial information.So how do the browsers stack up against one another in a no-holds-barred, anti-phishing slugfest? One third-party test that pitted the browsers against two week’s worth of phishing sites concluded that Firefox’s phish net may have fewer holes than IE’s.

Akamaru is a simple, but fun, physics engine prototype. It is amazing to use, and easy to install. One more reason to forget Windows Vista, embrace Open Source, and use Ubuntu or Fedora (among other non-Micro$u$e distros).

Ah, the marriage of two of my favorite programs, uTorrent and Firefox. Over at TorrentFreak they’ve got an add-on for Firefox that integrates the two, putting uTorrent’s WebUI (which you must download separately) in Firefox’s sidebar and reporting you download and upload speeds in the status bar.
